Outdoor Education

Outdoor education promotes learning, teamwork, and activity that will last throughout a student's lifetime. It teaches them how to safely perform outdoor activities and gives them the chance to experience it all firsthand.

When PE teachers take activities outside, they have the opportunity to introduce activities that encourage teamwork, cooperation, and communication among students. Incorporate geocaching and orienteering to teach students how to work together and problem solve.

Teachers can also test their students' endurance with snowshoes, skis, bicycles, kayaks, and skating packs. Students will have so much fun experiencing and learning about the outdoors that they won't even realize how much activity they are getting!
