15 Innovative PE Activities Using the DigRig Pro Volleyball Cart

The DigRig Pro Volleyball Cart is a high-capacity, professional-grade storage and training tool designed to keep volleyballs organized, mobile, and accessible during drills and games. With space for over 30 balls, a sturdy powder-coated steel frame, and four smooth-rolling, locking casters, this cart stands out for its durability and functionality in high-traffic environments. Its large open top allows multiple students to retrieve or return volleyballs quickly, making it ideal for circuit training, rapid-fire skill development, and group activities. The following 15 PE activity ideas creatively integrate this cart into lessons to support the development of fundamental movement skills (FMS) in both volleyball-specific and general physical education contexts.

1. Cart & Serve Circuit: Students rotate through stations and serve from balls stored in the DigRig Pro. Emphasizes serving, rotation movement, and coordination.

2. Serve & Retrieve Sprint: Students serve balls from the cart and must retrieve them as fast as possible. Builds striking power and locomotor endurance.

3. Bump & Pass Challenge: Use balls from the cart to practice bump passes to a target or wall. Focuses on striking accuracy and stance control.

4. Set the Record: Students attempt to set as many balls as they can into a hoop or target using balls pulled from the cart. Promotes focus and upper-body control.

5. Rainbow Serve Score: Use Rainbow Volleyball Trainers in the cart and assign point values to each color. Encourages aiming and serving under pressure.

6. Spike Line Rotation: Line up at the DigRig Pro for quick-toss-and-spike drills. Each student spikes one ball then rotates. Supports jumping and striking with force.

7. Serve Station Madness: Place the cart in the middle of a gym and mark serve zones around it. Students choose balls and serve in different directions. Builds multi-angle coordination.

8. Serve-a-Spot Race: Place floor markers (like TopSpot Vinyl Spots) as serve targets. Students race to serve into all targets using balls from the cart. Teaches aiming under time.

9. Volleyball Volcano: Fill the cart and have students serve or toss balls as fast as they can until the cart is empty. Encourages repetition and power endurance.

10. Dig It & Drop It: Toss balls from the cart to students who dig them into a designated zone or net. Builds reaction control and digging form.

11. Cart Round Robin: Split class into small teams. Each team uses balls from the cart to complete a skill circuit (serve, pass, set, spike). Rotates every 3 minutes. Reinforces multiple FMS skills.

12. Volleyball Relay Mania: Students serve, run, return a ball to the cart, then tag the next teammate. Combines striking and relay movement.

13. Cart Pull Power Crawl: With a rope attached, students drag the empty cart across the floor as players set, spike or serve into the cart. Builds core strength and group coordination.

14. Reaction Ball Race: Toss balls from the cart randomly into play. Students race to be the first to legally strike them. Trains focus and reaction agility.

15. Serve-to-Target Tournament: Create a scoreboard near the cart. Students serve into hoop targets or wall squares to earn points. Emphasizes striking accuracy.
