Basketball Drills Using the Wilson® Evolution® Composite Basketball

These advanced basketball drills are designed to challenge high-performing players by refining key movement skills, improving ball handling, shooting, and game strategy.

1. Power Pivot Precision: Players dribble the ball, stop, and execute quick pivots upon command. Coaches call out random directions to simulate in-game movement, forcing players to maintain balance and control.

2. Evolutionary Eurostep: Players drive toward the basket and practice executing the Eurostep to avoid defenders. Focus on quick direction changes and finishing strong at the rim.

3. Bounce Back Beatdown: In a 1v1 drill, one player dribbles while the other applies defensive pressure. The offensive player must maintain dribble control without losing the ball.

4. Full-Court Frenzy: Players dribble the length of the court, alternating between sprinting and slowing down at specific court markers. This drill focuses on ball control at different speeds and endurance.

5. Bank Shot Battle: Players take turns shooting from various angles, but each shot must be banked off the backboard. Missing the bank results in a penalty like a sprint or push-ups.

6. Rebound & React: Players practice offensive and defensive rebounding, focusing on positioning and explosiveness. After each rebound, they must immediately pass to a coach or shoot.

7. Beat the Buzzer: Players start at half-court, sprint to the 3-point line, and shoot before the coach's countdown ends. This builds pressure handling and shot accuracy.

8. Around the World Shooting: Players move to five designated spots around the court and shoot from each position. After making all five, they must repeat the circuit under time pressure.

9. Step-Back Swish: Players dribble toward the basket, then perform a step-back to create space and take a jump shot. The focus is on balance and quick release after the step-back.

10. Triple Threat Trouble: Players assume the triple-threat position and respond to different commands (pass, shoot, dribble) called out by the coach. This drill reinforces decision-making under pressure.

11. Catch & Shoot Sprint: Players start at half-court, sprint to the 3-point line, catch a pass, and shoot immediately. Emphasis is on catching in rhythm and shooting quickly.

12. Closeout Chaos: Players start at the free-throw line and sprint to close out on a shooter positioned at the 3-point line. They must contest the shot without fouling.

13. Screen & Roll Drill: Players practice setting screens and then rolling to the basket for a pass. The drill focuses on timing and positioning to execute the play efficiently.

14. Full-Court Press Breaker: Teams simulate breaking a full-court press by advancing the ball up the court against a defensive line. Players work on spacing, passing, and maintaining composure under pressure.

15. Off-the-Dribble Jumper: Players dribble into the key, stop, and take a jump shot. Emphasis is on proper footwork and release off the dribble.
