TumblePro 2" Bonded-Foam Custom Color Gymnastics Mats
Perfect for medium-impact gymnastics, tumbling and cheer activities, these 6 lb bonded-foam mats offer more stability and firmness than standard urethane-foam mats, without sacrificing a soft feel or bottoming out. Customize in your choice of 17 colors (one solid color or alternating panels) to build spirit or carry through a color theme.
Mats are constructed with extreme durability in mind. Smooth, nylon-reinforced 14 oz antimicrobial vinyl covers are flame-retardant, washable, and mildew-resistant. Double-reinforced nylon-stitched inside seams ensure durability, maximum safety, and longevity. Fold mats in 2' sections for accessible, organized storage.
Smaller mats are great for individual use or confined areas; larger mats offer the best coverage for their price in larger activity spaces. Choose no hook-and-loop fasteners, on 2 ends, or on all 4 sides for ease of configuration. Mats can quickly be linked together for longer runs or better floor coverage.
Customize colors to show off school spirit! Choose solid or alternating 2' panel colors when ordering.

15 Movement Skill Activities Using TumblePro 2" Bonded-Foam Custom Color Gymnastics Mats
The Gopher TumblePro 2" Bonded-Foam Custom Color Gymnastics Mats combine firm support and comfort, making them ideal for a wide variety of PE activities. The bonded foam construction ensures durability and impact absorption for tumbling, balance, stretching, and body control movements. With customizable colors, teachers can assign colors for stations, movements, or group organization. These mats also feature hook-and-loop fasteners for creating large play surfaces or obstacle paths. The following 15 activities harness the safety and versatility of these mats to teach students key fundamental movement skills in engaging and developmentally appropriate ways.
1. Color Code Cartwheels: Assign a color panel for each phase of a cartwheel (hand-hand-foot-foot) and have students match placement. Builds coordination and spatial awareness.
2. Jump-to-Pose Pathway: Students jump from one mat panel to another, holding a balance pose on each. Teaches jumping, landing, and static balance.
3. Forward Roll Highway: Students perform forward rolls down a connected row of mats, stopping at each color panel to reset. Reinforces rolling and body control.
4. Mat Yoga Journey: Each color panel represents a yoga pose. Students follow the color sequence and flow through poses. Builds flexibility, balance, and focus.
5. Rainbow Reaction Roll: Teacher calls a color and a movement (e.g., red = roll, blue = jump). Students respond accordingly. Teaches reaction timing and listening.
6. Mat Island Balance Battle: Each mat is an “island.” Students jump to a mat and freeze in a balance pose while avoiding “sharks” (taggers). Develops balance and agility.
7. Tumble Train Relay: Teams take turns doing a forward roll, run to a cone, and tag the next person. Focuses on rolling and team relay participation.
8. Sit & Reach Rainbow Test: Use colored panels to mark reaching progress in a sit-and-reach flexibility test. Builds hamstring flexibility and goal setting.
9. Jump the River: Line two mats apart and have students leap across the gap. Challenge them to increase the distance. Promotes leaping and power.
10. Animal Movement Safari: Students move across mats using different animal gaits—bear crawl, bunny hop, snake slither. Encourages creative locomotion.
11. Color Combo Flow: Each color panel represents a movement: roll, stretch, jump, or balance. Students follow a color combo pattern. Improves sequencing and skill transitions.
12. One-Mat Obstacle Course: Create a mini movement sequence using one mat: jump on red, roll on blue, pose on yellow. Builds multi-skill application.
13. Freeze on Four: Students perform four quick movements (jump, twist, roll, balance) and freeze. Teaches transitional control and focus.
14. Bridge & Kick Challenge: While holding a bridge pose, students alternate leg kicks. Develops core strength and coordination.
15. Rainbow Relay Balance Race: Students perform a balance pose on one color, then hop or crawl to the next mat to tag a teammate. Builds balance and relay cooperation.
