15 PE Activities Using the Tandem Volleyball Round Blocking Pad Set

The Tandem Volleyball Round Blocking Pad Set is specifically designed to simulate real blocking pressure during volleyball drills. Its round, padded design allows teachers or players to safely and effectively challenge spikers by mimicking defenders at the net. What makes this product unique is its lightweight construction, easy grip handles, and round surface that absorbs impact—helping players focus on spiking angles, timing, and shot selection under simulated pressure. These blocking pads also enhance footwork, reaction drills, and body control, making them a versatile addition for teaching fundamental movement skills (FMS) in both volleyball-specific and general PE activities.

1. Spike Through the Shield: A teacher or student holds the blocking pad above the net while another student spikes. Teaches striking under pressure and jumping control.

2. Blocker Dodge Spike: Students approach to spike but must adjust angle to avoid the pad. Develops decision making, body awareness, and precision striking.

3. Blocking Footwork Shuffle: Students hold the pad and shuffle laterally across the net line, simulating blocker movement. Builds agility and dynamic balance.

4. Jump & Reach Contest: Students jump with the pad to see who can reach the highest, using proper blocking form. Trains jumping and arm extension.

5. Spike Direction Drill: Hold the pad in different positions above the net; spikers aim to go around it. Reinforces shot selection and striking accuracy.

6. Pad Tap Relay: Students run to the net, jump to tap the pad, and run back. Great for jump training and speed.

7. Wall Slam Reps: Students strike the pad (held against a wall) with both hands using blocking form. Enhances muscle memory and arm extension.

8. Up, Down, Block!: Call commands like “up,” “down,” or “block.” Students react by jumping and pressing the pad above their head on "block!" Reinforces reaction training and explosive movement.

9. Spike & Block Pair Work: One student spikes while the other holds the pad as a blocker. Both develop striking, spatial timing, and reading opponents.

10. Roundhouse Reaction Hit: Hold the pad low or high—students must slap it with correct arm extension depending on height. Trains reaction adjustment and target recognition.

11. Blocking Zone Battle: Two teams on each side of the net take turns spiking while a teammate holds a pad for blocking. Encourages team strategy and movement patterns.

12. Blocking Balance Hold: Students jump with the pad, hold “block” position for 3 seconds before landing. Builds core stability and controlled landings.

13. Block, Drop, Dive: Students simulate a block, then drop the pad and dive for a tossed ball. Teaches transition speed and body control.

14. Spike Read & Block: Teacher fake spikes or tosses while students read and block the correct direction using pads. Enhances anticipation and reaction.

15. Vertical Reach Charting: Use the pad as a marker for students to reach during jump tests. Record heights and set improvement goals. Promotes goal setting and vertical tracking.
