Reusable Playground Stencils
Quickly and easily create a court out on the playground with your existing spray paint and these playground stencils! Just lay the stencils out flat and spray directly over them for best results! The LDPE material is rigid for crisp, clean lines. While rigid, the 1/16” thickness allows the stencils to roll for compact storage. No more laying out confusing and frustrating paper templates; the hopscotch and basketball courts are a one-shot paint, while 4-square has a simple 3 piece stencil that is reused to make the perfect square! Pieces notch together to create easy guide lines.
Set options:
- 4 Square: 126"L x 14"W; 9 lb
- Hopscotch: 138"L x 40"W; 14 lb
- Basketball Court: 240"L x 156"W; 30 lb
Creative Activity Ideas Using Reusable Playground Stencils
The Reusable Playground Stencils from Gopher Sport allow educators to transform any flat outdoor space into an engaging and colorful learning environment. Below are distinct activity ideas that utilize these stencils to teach fundamental movement skills in exciting and inclusive ways.
1. Hopscotch Hustle: Use the hopscotch stencil to create a multicolored course. Students practice hopping and leaping through the pattern while balancing on one foot, switching legs, and adding creative jumps to improve locomotor skills and dynamic balance.
2. Fitness Four Corners: Use the 4 square stencil to mark four corners. Each corner represents a different movement skill station (e.g., galloping, jumping jacks, twisting, throwing). Rotate groups through stations every 2 minutes.
3. Number Line Leap: Paint a giant number hopscotch and have students leap from number to number in math sequences (e.g., skip count by 2s or 5s). This teaches leaping, number awareness, and spatial recognition.
4. Rainbow Relay Races: Use the basketball court stencil to form rainbow arcs. Students in teams must run from one color arc to another while performing a specified movement like hopping, sliding, or crawling to work on coordination and speed.
5. Jump-and-Spell Jog: Use the Hopscotch stencil. Combine letters and locomotor movement. Students spell words by jumping or running from letter to letter. Great for blending literacy and movement.
6. Obstacle Oval Olympics: Use the hopscotch stencils to paint a track with built-in movement instructions. Include actions like “twist,” “turn,” “jump,” “duck,” creating a dynamic agility and coordination course.
7. Giant Tic-Tac-Toe Toss: Use the 4 square stencil in a 3x3 grid. Teams take turns tossing beanbags to claim a square using a throwing skill. Encourages strategy and manipulative skills.
8. Number Maze Mania: Paint a number path with hopscotch stencils in a twisting layout. Students solve math equations by hopping to correct answers, improving leaping and math skills.
9. Chalkboard Challenge Course: Use hopscotch stencil to create temporary challenge courses with written tasks (e.g., “Skip to circle, do 5 jumping jacks”). Rotating challenges boost creativity and coordination.
10. Leapfrog Ladder Lunge: Create a hopscotch ladder path with numbered rungs. Students frog jump between rungs and stop to perform lunges at designated spots. Emphasizes jumping and core stability.
