Each Satryan ball combines the friendliness and playability of foam balls with the easy tossing of flying discs for the best of both worlds on the field or court, indoors or out. Softer material is easy to catch yet retains the soaring ability of a disc. It's also unpredictable when it bounces and skips, improving reaction time for students. Teachers will enjoy the wide variety of uses, from the Satryan ball game to other activities like Ultimate Frisbee. These balls are 6-3/4" dia and available as a Set of 6.

15 Fundamental Movement Skill Activities Using Rainbow Satryan Foam Balls

The Rainbow Satryan Foam Balls are 7” lightweight, uncoated foam balls designed for safe, high-action play. What makes them unique is their increased durability and superior rebound, offering more bounce than traditional foam balls without sacrificing softness. With bright rainbow colors for easy team sorting and visual tracking, these balls are ideal for energetic games that teach catching, throwing, striking, dodging, rolling, and bouncing. Their responsiveness makes them a great option for developing manipulative and locomotor skills in fast-paced, engaging ways.

Below are 15 unique physical education activity ideas using Rainbow Satryan Foam Balls. Each one is designed to support developmentally appropriate fundamental movement skills in students of all ages, and works well in both small and large group PE settings.

1. Rainbow Roll & Retrieve: Students roll their ball to a color-matching cone across the gym, then retrieve it while performing a locomotor movement (e.g., skip). Builds rolling control and spatial awareness.

2. Catch Me If You Bounce It: In pairs, students bounce the ball to each other. Add a rule where students must name the color of the ball before catching. Combines color ID and catching.

3. Pass the Power Bounce: Students form a circle and pass the ball around using only bounce passes. Increase speed as they improve. Develops timing and team rhythm.

4. Rainbow Reaction Grid: Create a floor grid with different colored spots. Call out a color, and students must bounce their matching ball on that spot. Reinforces color recognition and precision.

5. Squeeze & Freeze Bounce: Students squeeze the ball overhead and bounce it three times, then freeze in a balance pose. Combines upper-body strength, balance, and bounce control.

6. Rainbow Hot Potato: In a circle, students quickly pass the ball around. When music stops, the person holding it must perform a movement skill. Develops timing and cooperative play.

7. Bounce & Balance Walk: Students bounce the ball while walking across a taped balance beam line. Develops balance and dual-task control.

8. Mini Volleyball Madness: Use a low net and the Satraya Ball for a foam volleyball game. Encourages volleying, striking, and team play.

9. Rainbow Pong Roll: Students roll the ball across the floor, aiming to stop it inside color-coded hoops. Develops rolling precision and spatial awareness.

10. Satryan Circle Bounce Drill: Students stand in a circle and bounce the ball to a partner across from them. Must call their partner’s name before bouncing. Combines social cues and movement timing.

11. Kick & Catch Chaos: Students kick the ball gently into the air and try to catch it on the bounce. Builds foot-eye coordination and reactive catching.

12. Wall Sit Bounce Battle: While holding a wall sit, students bounce and catch the ball five times. Adds endurance training to manipulative skills.

13. Rainbow Toss ‘n’ Tag: In pairs, students toss and catch. After 5 catches, they run to a cone and tag it before continuing. Combines throwing, catching, and running.

14. Catch Clap Sit-Up: Partner 1 tosses the ball to Partner 2, who performs a sit-up and catches the ball at the top. Switch after 10 reps. Combines core strength and catching.

15. Bounce Tag Tower Defense: Each student defends a cone “tower.” Others try to bounce the ball to knock it down. Teaches targeting, bouncing accuracy, and defensive awareness.
