Rainbow Phenom Bats

The bats that are so phenomenal they knock other plastic bats out of the park!
You must choose an option from above before adding to your cart.

These bats are twice as strong as other plastic bats for long-lasting durability. The taped handles offer players an excellent grip.

Durable Construction

Made with plastic walls that are twice as thick as any other plastic bat on the market, they’ll stand up to years of routine use. Molded-in grips with tape over the top give players the best grip they can find on a plastic bat. The durable designs stand up to use with plastic, rubber, and foam balls.

Great for Training

The bats are available in six sizes, giving teachers the chance to pick the best option for their classes' abilities. The bats are lightweight, leading to a slower exit speed of the ball after contact during batting drills or game play. This also makes the bats excellent for use indoors because there is less risk of balls flying at an overly fast speed. The Rainbow colors and multiple sizes let teachers easily organize their classes into color-coded batting groups and drills.

Phenom Bats are available in:

  • Skinny Bats: Smaller 1-1/4" dia barrel for advanced users. 32"L.
  • Standard Bats: Standard 2-1/4" dia barrel. 30"L.
  • Mid-Size Bats: Intermediate 3" dia barrel for improved contact. 29"L.
  • Big Bats: Oversized 4-1/2" dia barrel for easier contact. 28"L
  • Flat Bats: Oversized 4-1/2" dia barrel with a flat surface for early beginner success. 28"L.

Exciting Activity Ideas Using Rainbow® Phenom™ Bats for Physical Education

The Rainbow® Phenom™ Bats are lightweight, durable, and feature oversized heads, making them ideal for teaching striking, coordination, and manipulative movement skills. These bats are perfect for helping students master fundamental skills while engaging in fun and dynamic activities.

Below are creative activity ideas using these bats to teach locomotor, non-locomotor, and manipulative movements for students of all ages.

1. Big Hit, Big Run: Students will practice striking with the Big Bats (4-1/2" dia, 28"L), hitting a foam ball as far as they can. These oversized bats are ideal for beginners as they allow for easier contact. This teaches hand-eye coordination, striking, and running.

2. Swing and Scatter: Students use the Mid-Size Bats (3" dia, 29"L) to hit foam balls and knock over plastic cones. These bats improve contact while still requiring students to focus on aiming and accuracy, making them great for intermediate players.

3. Bottle Bat Blitz: Students use the Big Bats (4-1/2" dia, 28"L) for easier contact. The batter gets three swings to hit a ball off a batting tee. After hitting, the batter runs around a cone placed a short distance away and back to home plate. If the fielder returns the ball to the pitcher before the batter completes the run, they are out. This helps beginners develop hitting confidence while practicing base running and speed.

4. Beat the Ball Sprint: Using Standard Bats (2-1/4" dia, 30"L), students take turns batting and running the bases. Fielders must catch the ball, throw it to first base, and then home plate to get the batter out. If the batter beats the ball home, they score a run. This fast-paced game improves hitting accuracy, fielding speed, and quick decision-making.

5. Babe Ruth's Target Smash: Players call out which outfield section (left, center, right) they will aim for. They must hit the ball with the Mid-Size Bats (3" dia, 29"L) to the designated zone. The batter stays in position as long as they successfully hit the target zone. This activity promotes accuracy in hitting and strategic thinking, especially with no base running involved.

6. Field Flip Frenzy: Using Flat Bats (4-1/2" dia, flat surface, 28"L), students hit foam balls into designated field zones. Fielders must quickly retrieve the ball and throw it back to a target (like a cone). This activity emphasizes teamwork and develops fielding speed and accuracy.

7. Target Trouble: Students use the Standard Bats (2-1/4" dia, 30"L) to hit a foam ball toward various sized targets. These bats allow for greater control and accuracy for intermediate students looking to improve their striking precision.

8. Scrub Shuffle: Students use the Standard Bats (2-1/4" dia, 30"L) for hitting. When a batter gets out, they rotate to the outfield, and each fielder moves up one position. The pitcher becomes the batter, and the rotation continues. This fast-paced game encourages quick thinking, hitting, and teamwork.

9. Catch and Bat Bonanza: For this hand-eye coordination drill, students use the Standard Bats (2-1/4" dia, 30"L) to hit tossed balls before they land. The smaller barrel challenges advanced students to improve precision and timing.

10. Station Hitter Hustle: In this station-based hitting drill, students use Big Bats (4-1/2" dia, 28"L) at Station 1 for easier contact. Each station focuses on a specific baseball skill. At the batting station, students take turns hitting balls off a tee while others field. After a certain number of swings, they rotate, allowing everyone to practice hitting and fielding.
