Great for Introductory Tossing Games

Rings are a great way to teach tossing to younger student, while also improving their hand-eye coordination. These rings are extremely user-friendly with younger students in mind. The soft, non-intimidating foam is easy to grip and protects gym floors when rings land on them. Tough outer skin stands up to consistent use.

Two sizes are available to suit the needs of your program. The larger 14" dia rings are great for tossing and for use in target games with bean bags. The smaller 10" dia rings can add extra challenge to tossing games as your students get more comfortable with their skills. Both have 2" thick foam. Rainbow colors make it easy to set up color-coded games or skills stations.

Fun and Engaging Rainbow Foam Rings Activities

These Rainbow Foam Rings offer a versatile and fun way to teach fundamental movement skills. Their soft foam construction and bright colors provide a safe environment for practicing tossing, catching, balancing, and more. These activities will challenge students’ coordination, accuracy, and teamwork while keeping them active and engaged.

1. Ring Around the Hoop: Hang hula hoops vertically and have students throw the 14” rings through them.

2. Foam Ring Frisbee Fun: Students use the larger 14” rings as frisbees, tossing them to partners or aiming for targets.

3. Rainbow Balance Challenge: Have students balance the 14” or 10” rings on their heads or arms as they move across an obstacle course, practicing balance and coordination.

4. Ring Golf: Set up a course where students must toss foam rings onto different cones or objects. The large 14” rings provide easier targets, while the smaller 10” rings add difficulty as students progress.

5. Circle the Cone: Arrange cones in a line, and have students toss the rings to land around each cone. Use the 14” rings for beginners and the 10” rings to challenge advanced throwers.

6. Ring Bowling Bonanza: Students toss the foam rings at a series of foam bowling pins, aiming to knock them down. Color-coded rings and pins make it easy to create team-based or individual challenges.

7. Throwing Accuracy Circuit: Set up targets at various distances, with students tossing the 14” or 10” rings at increasing ranges. This activity sharpens focus, accuracy, and hand-eye coordination.

8. Ring Stack Relay: Students race to stack 14” rings onto cones in a relay format. This helps develop teamwork, coordination, and quick thinking.

9. Rainbow Ring Tic-Tac-Toe: Set up a large tic-tac-toe board on the ground, and students toss the 14” and 10” rings into the squares to make their moves. This game helps develop aim and spatial awareness.

10. Bean Bag Capture: In teams, students throw the foam rings over bean bags to “capture” them. Color-coded rings can correspond to specific team challenges, adding excitement to the game.

11. Ring Balance Beam: Place foam rings along a balance beam, and students must walk across while picking up the rings without losing their balance. The soft foam helps reduce the challenge for younger students.

12. Foam Ring Capture the Flag: Use the 14” rings as goals in a capture the flag game. Students must race to capture their opponent’s ring and return it to their base, incorporating speed, strategy, and teamwork.

13. Rainbow Relay Baton Pass: In this relay race, students use the 14” foam ring as a baton. Teams must pass the ring by sliding it over their arms to the next runner without dropping it. The foam construction ensures safe handoffs while promoting teamwork and coordination during the race.

14. Precision Ring Toss: Set up cones or foam targets at varying distances and have students take turns tossing the 14” foam rings over the targets. Each successful ring around a cone scores points based on the distance—closer targets score fewer points, while farther ones score more. Use the smaller 10” rings to add a challenge for more advance students.

15. Balance the Ball: Place foam rings flat on the ground and balance sport balls on top of them. The rings act as excellent ball holders, preventing the balls from rolling away.
