Benefits

  • The practice of yoga engages core muscles to provide an excellent total body work out and enhance balance, flexibility, posture, coordination, and strength.
  • Safe for all users, as it is latex-free and hypoallergenic. This construction eliminates the irritation some users have from contact with latex or other chemicals.
  • Use of mats also eliminates the discomfort caused by hardwood floors.
  • Used mainly for yoga practices and poses such as downward dog, cobra, warrior, tree, and more. Can also be used for basic stretching, Pilates, or plyometrics.
  • Custom textured material won’t slip out from under users, keeping them safe during stretches.

Engaging Activities with Rainbow® ExerFit™ Yoga Mats

The following activities are designed to maximize the Rainbow® ExerFit™ Yoga Mats, which provide a non-slip surface, stability, and support for students of all skill levels. These mats are perfect for yoga, stretching, and other floor-based exercises. Their bright colors make class organization easy, and the soft, latex-free material ensures comfort for all users, eliminating the discomfort of hard floors.

1. Color Match Yoga Flow: Assign different yoga poses to each color of mat (e.g., red for Downward Dog, blue for Cobra). Students rotate to different colored mats and perform the corresponding pose. This activity helps with pose recognition and encourages movement between mats.

2. Partner Pose Challenge: Pair students together and assign partner yoga poses like Double Boat or Partner Tree Pose. The non-slip surface of the mats ensures stability while students work on balance and coordination.

3. Pilates Circuit on Mats: Set up different exercise stations, each with a mat for Pilates moves like Leg Circles, Roll-Ups, or Planks. Students rotate through each station, focusing on core strength and stability.

4. Yoga Freeze Dance: Play music while students move freely on their mats. When the music stops, they must freeze in a yoga pose of their choice. This activity combines dance, yoga, and mindfulness, encouraging creativity.

5. Stretching Time Trial: Time students as they move through a series of yoga stretches, performing each one on their mats. They must maintain form and safety throughout, using the non-slip surface for stability.

6. Rainbow Partner Stretches: Each student sits on their mat, facing a partner. They perform seated partner stretches like Seated Forward Bend and Partner Straddle Stretch, promoting flexibility and teamwork.

7. Mindful Breathing Mats: Guide students through mindful breathing exercises while lying on their mats. Encourage them to focus on the feel of the mat beneath them, grounding their awareness in the present moment.

8. Mat Pose Card Game: Place yoga pose cards (like Rainbow UltraFit CircuitPro Yoga Pack Station Boards & Teacher Cards) on each mat. Students move to a mat, pick up the card, and perform the pose. This helps them learn new poses while staying active.

9. Yoga Ladder Challenge: Line up the mats to form a "ladder." Students move from one mat to the next, performing a more advanced yoga pose at each step. This encourages gradual progression and improvement in strength and balance.

10. Mat Shuffle Pose Switch: Students start in a yoga pose of their choice. When the teacher calls "shuffle," they move to a different mat and switch to a new pose. The bright colors help them quickly locate their next mat.

11. Rainbow Breathing Circles: Students sit on their mats in a circle, practicing deep breathing exercises.

12. Yoga Storytime Adventure: Create a story where students act out different parts of the narrative with yoga poses. For example, they become a “tree” in Tree Pose or a “snake” in Cobra Pose. This encourages imagination and body awareness.

13. Yoga Mat Plank Challenge: Students compete to see who can hold a plank the longest on their mats. The non-slip texture helps them maintain stability while they strengthen their core.

14. Rainbow Mat Meditation: Guide students through a short meditation while they sit or lie on their colorful mats. The bright, inviting colors create a calming and engaging environment for relaxation and mindfulness.

15. Yoga Mat Yoga Board Game: Create a game board out of yoga mats, where each mat represents a different yoga challenge. Students roll a die and move to the corresponding mat, performing the yoga task they land on. This promotes fun and exploration of different poses.
