Rainbow DuraCoat Squeeze Coated-Foam Balls

Add more durability to a squeezably soft, low-bounce foam play ball!
You must choose an option from above before adding to your cart.

A tough outer coating on these soft foam balls offers a durable option for any activity. Premium, low-density foam helps young students become more confident when catching because sting is eliminated when the ball hits their hands.

Durable Design

Our pick-proof DuraCoat cover has 33% more coating, making it 50% stronger than standard coated-foam balls. The heavy-duty coating makes this ball slightly heavier grippier than other foam balls. Plus, the low-density foam is squeezable and extremely easy to grasp in hands of any size. The combination of weight and grip makes these balls extremely easy to hold, making them easy to throw for a more accurate follow-through during target games.

No Sting, More Success

Low-density foam provides a friendly and comfortable feel when learning how to throw and catch. Students can focus on tracking and catching the ball instead of fearing the sting of a harder ball hitting their hands. The foam, low-bounce design is a fantastic option for activities when only a small play area is available. The design also makes this ball extremely useful during rolling activities.

Activity Ideas Using Rainbow DuraCoat Squeeze Coated Foam Balls

The Rainbow® DuraCoat™ Squeeze Coated Foam Balls are an excellent choice for kids due to their durable, tacky cover and pick-proof coating, making them ideal for a wide range of activities. These balls feature high-quality, low-density foam that’s squeezable, returning to shape immediately after each squeeze. This design helps students build confidence with catching, throwing, and other manipulative movements. Below are a few creative activities designed to enhance throwing, rolling, catching, and teamwork, while using these premium foam balls.

1. Giant Popcorn Pop-Off: Students work together in teams to launch a parachute with the foam balls placed on top. The objective is to pop the balls as high as possible without letting them fall off. This encourages teamwork, coordination, and strength-building, as students must work together to lift and pop the balls into the air.

2. Roll-a-Rainbow Challenge: Students take turns rolling their Rainbow® DuraCoat™ Foam Ball toward a set of colored targets or cones. The goal is to hit as many targets as possible in a limited time. This activity helps improve rolling accuracy and control.

3. Defender Handball: Set up a mini-handball court with goals on each end. Divide the class into two teams, one on offense and one on defense. The offensive team works together to pass the foam ball while trying to reach the goal without the ball being intercepted. The tacky coating of the foam ball makes it easier for students to grip and control, allowing them to practice their throwing, catching, and strategic movements in a fast-paced game.

4. Catch-n-Clap Relay: Students work in pairs, tossing the foam ball to each other. Before catching, they must clap as many times as they can. The soft and easy-to-grip foam ball builds hand-eye coordination and reaction time.

5. Knockdown Kingdom: Set up foam pins or plastic bottles in a ""kingdom"" formation, and students take turns rolling their foam ball to knock down the ""castle."" The tacky coating of the ball ensures smooth rolling, making this a perfect target game for developing accuracy.

6. Creative Catch Storytime: In this story-based game, the teacher begins telling a story. Each time a key word is mentioned (like “dragon” or “castle”), students toss their foam ball to a partner or across the room. The soft, squeezable balls allow for safe catching and throwing while encouraging imagination and storytelling.

7. DuraCoat™ Dance-Off: In this rhythmic challenge, students hold the foam ball between their knees or under their arm while performing a sequence of dance moves. They must keep the ball from falling as they twist, turn, and sway to the music, developing coordination, balance, and creativity through movement.

8. Rolling Relay Rampage: Students line up in teams and take turns rolling their foam ball to a target at the opposite end of the gym. The goal is to get as close as possible to the target without touching it. Once the ball reaches the target, they run to retrieve it and pass it to the next teammate. This activity focuses on teamwork, rolling, and agility.

9. Partner Pressure Pass: Students work in pairs, passing the foam ball by squeezing it between their backs and walking together across the gym. No hands allowed! This builds core stability, balance, and coordination as partners must communicate and stay in sync.

10. Partner Pop-Up Toss: Pairs of students toss their foam ball up and try to catch it before it hits the ground. They gradually increase the height of the toss with each successful catch, building confidence in catching and throwing.

11. Rainbow Skeeball Showdown: Create skeeball-style scoring zones using hoops or ropes on the ground. Students roll their foam ball into the different zones to score points. The grippy, low-density design helps them control their rolls while working on accuracy.

12. Double Trouble Toss: Students pair up, each holding a foam ball. They must toss their balls to each other at the same time and successfully catch them. The challenge of two simultaneous tosses builds coordination and timing.

13. Rolling Radar: Students roll their foam ball back and forth in pairs, aiming to knock down a series of small obstacles placed between them. The durable, slightly heavier ball allows for more controlled, strategic rolls.

14. Target Toss Pyramid: Build a pyramid of cups, and students take turns throwing their foam ball to knock down the structure. The weight and texture of the DuraCoat™ ball make it ideal for target practice, improving accuracy and precision.

15. Knock ‘Em Down Bowling Blast: Create bowling lanes with obstacles and pins placed at various distances. Students take turns rolling their foam ball, aiming to knock down as many pins as possible in one roll. This encourages controlled rolling and accuracy under pressure.
