This rubber basketball performs so well, we’re convinced you’ll feel the difference immediately! Cushioned rubber with wide pebbled channels provides a soft, tacky feel for improved handling and shooting.

Ultimate Rubber Construction

Durable design gives the ball the feel and performance of a composite ball, making this the ultimate rubber basketball in our collection. The finish on the rubber cover creates a tacky grip with a soft feel. Pebbled channels go above and beyond basic channeling for more consistent feel, control, and performance during play. Ideal for both indoor and outdoor use.

15 Fun and Fundamental Basketball Activities Using Performer Plus Rubber Basketballs

The Performer Plus Rubber Basketballs are designed for superior grip, exceptional durability, and consistent performance, making them ideal for all levels of physical education classes. Their tacky cover and wide-channel design improve ball control and handling, allowing students to build confidence as they learn essential manipulative movement skills. These activities help students practice dribbling, passing, shooting, and coordination while incorporating various fundamental movement skills in creative and engaging ways. Each of the 15 activities below makes use of these basketballs and helps reinforce a specific physical literacy skill in a fun, developmentally appropriate way.

1. Bounce and Boogie Basketball: Students dribble their Performer Plus Rubber Basketball to the beat of music. Every time the music pauses, they freeze in a balance pose. This game develops dynamic balance, rhythm, and dribbling control.

2. Dribble Dodge Derby: Players dribble around cones while trying to avoid soft foam balls thrown by classmates. Great for teaching dodging, dribbling, and spatial awareness.

3. Pass and Pivot Party: Students practice passing in pairs while pivoting on one foot before each pass. Teaches coordination, passing, and the non-locomotor skill of twisting and turning.

4. Dribble Tag Tango: All students dribble inside a boundary. If tagged, they must freeze with the ball above their head until a teammate performs a bounce pass to free them. Promotes teamwork, dribbling, and bounce passing.

5. Hula Hoop Hoopla: Set up basketball “targets.” Students shoot from designated distances. Each successful shot into a hoop scores points. Develops aiming, throwing, and power control.

6. Performer Plus Passing Parade: Line up teams and have students chest pass down the line and back. Time each group and reward accuracy and teamwork. Focuses on passing technique and coordination.

7. Basketball Balance Battle: Students dribble while balancing a beanbag on their heads. If it falls, they must stop and do five ball taps. Develops posture, balance, and fine control.

8. Around the World Shooter Showdown: Set up shooting spots around the gym. Students rotate spots, taking a shot at each. Builds throwing, spatial awareness, and power generation.

9. Skip, Stop, and Shot: Students skip to a cone, stop on two feet, then perform a jump shot with the Performer Plus Basketball. Teaches skipping, stopping, and vertical jumping mechanics.

10. Partner Pass Relay: Students pair up and pass the basketball while moving from one end of the gym to the other. Each successful pass progresses them forward. Builds locomotion and coordination.

11. Circle of Catch: Students form a circle and pass the basketball across to random players using chest or bounce passes. Incorporate call-outs or math questions for cognitive engagement too.

12. Bounce, Jump, Shoot: Students bounce the ball three times, jump over a line or hurdle, and shoot into a portable hoop Combines dribbling, jumping, and shooting.

13. Mirror Me Movement: In pairs, one student dribbles and performs movements (spin, pivot, cross dribble), while the other mirrors. Enhances body awareness and motor control.

14. The Performer Plus Power Push: In pairs, students use their basketball to push gently against each other’s basketballs while maintaining control. Builds pushing/pulling awareness and spatial balance.

15. Crossover Chaos: Mark lines across the gym. Students must crossover dribble at each line and change direction. Focus on lateral movement and hand coordination.
