TumblePro 2-1/2" Rubberized Polyethylene-Foam Custom Color Gymnastics Mats
Our new closed-cell rubberized polyethylene foam was developed specifically for this mat to produce more rebound without the rigidity that typically comes with advanced tumbling mats. The higher energy return is ideal for medium- to high-impact activities, yet the softer feel suits young and novice users.

The Gopher TumblePro 2-1/2" Rubberized Polyethylene Foam Custom-Color Gymnastics Mats deliver maximum durability and safety for physical education classes of all ages. Featuring a dense, rubberized polyethylene foam core, these mats provide superior shock absorption and long-lasting performance—even under high-traffic, high-impact use. The customizable color options make it easy to designate stations, organize circuits, or set visual movement cues. Designed for everything from tumbling to stability challenges, these mats are perfect for developing fundamental movement skills while keeping students safe and supported. Explore 15 creative activities below that maximize the potential of these premium mats.
1. Mat Match Roll Race: Students perform a forward roll across the mat, racing to stop on a panel that matches the color of a cone. Develops rolling, color recognition, and control.
2. Power Pose Jump: Students jump onto a designated color panel and immediately freeze in a strong balance pose. Enhances jumping, landing, and static balance.
3. Gymnastics Skill Stations: Use multiple mats as stations for forward rolls, bridges, shoulder rolls, and jumps. Reinforces repetition and skill diversity.
4. Cartwheel Countdown Course: Create a cartwheel path across several mats using the extra cushioning to encourage confident movement. Builds coordination and spatial flow.
5. Jump the Rainbow River: Set mats side by side with space between each one to simulate a river crossing. Students leap from mat to mat without “falling in.” Develops leaping and power.
6. Bridge Hold Showdown: Students hold a bridge position on the mat and try to balance a beanbag on their belly. Promotes core strength and stillness.
7. Hop, Drop, and Roll: Students hop across the mat, drop into a squat, and then perform a forward roll. Focuses on transitional movement and coordination.
8. Color Code Control: Teacher calls a color and a movement—students move to that panel and perform the skill (e.g., “green = shoulder roll”). Develops reaction and body control.
9. Pose & Pass: Students freeze in a pose and pass a ball gently to a partner in a nearby pose. Combines balance and manipulative skills.
10. Mat Maze Relay: Create a zigzag or “maze” using multiple mats. Students roll, jump, or crawl through the maze in teams. Teaches agility and problem-solving.
11. Partner Roll Relay: One student rolls down the mat while their partner does jumping jacks; they switch roles at the end. Encourages teamwork and dual engagement.
12. Balance Beam Panel Walk: Students pretend the center of the mat is a balance beam and walk heel-to-toe across without falling off the “line.” Builds dynamic balance.
13. Pose Pyramid Game: Students hold increasingly difficult poses with each panel they pass. Focuses on strength progression and confidence.
14. Roll & Hold Freeze: Students roll across the mat and immediately freeze in a balance pose upon finishing. Develops transitional stability.
15. Mat Slide Spin: With socks on, students slide across the mat, perform a 360° spin, and land in a seated position. Builds spinning, control, and coordination.
