Single Player Skill Building

Students seeking to master the fundamentals of passing, receiving, rebounding, and ball tracking will find these basketball bounce back nets supremely beneficial! Their ability to master core ball handling skills will quickly translate over to the court as they find themselves more comfortable during game time.

The rugged, steel frames on these rebounders will withstand institutional wear and tear. Nets are connected to the frame with strong bungees to spring the ball back at the player. The Master Trainer disassembles for convenient transportation and storage. The Varsity Trainer features casters to easily roll it from storage to the court and locks into place with a hand brake.

15 Fundamental Movement Skill Activities Using the GARED Toss Back Trainers

The GARED Toss Back Trainers are heavy-duty rebounders that return balls with speed and unpredictability, helping students refine hand-eye coordination, reaction time, and body positioning. Unlike traditional walls or rebound nets, these trainers are built for multi-angle use, quick pass return, and consistent durability across all levels of physical education. Their adjustable frame and responsive rebounding surface make them a versatile tool for developing manipulative and body control skills. The activities below use the Toss Back Trainers to build core fundamental movement skills across a wide range of dynamic and engaging games.

1. Rapid Fire Rebound: Students take turns throwing balls at the Toss Back Trainer, trying to catch as many rebounds as possible in 30 seconds. This fast-paced activity develops catching, reaction time, and upper-body coordination.

2. Bounce & Backpedal: Students throw a ball into the trainer, then quickly backpedal to catch the return. Teaches agility, dynamic balance, and backward locomotion.

3. Jump Shot Jamboree: After tossing the ball into the rebounder, students jump to catch the return and immediately shoot at a goal or target. Combines jumping, catching, and shooting in quick succession.

4. Mirror Me Catch-Up: Partners face each other, each with their own Toss Back Trainer. One performs a movement after rebounding (e.g., spin, jump, squat), the other copies. Builds reaction time, coordination, and mimicking skills.

5. Reaction Race Relay: Teams race to score 5 clean catches off the rebounder before sprinting to a finish line. Emphasizes teamwork, catching, and sprinting.

6. Rebound Reaction Round-Up: Teacher calls out a number (e.g., “3”), and students must catch that many rebounds before moving on. Sharpens listening, sequencing, and manipulative skills.

7. Kneel & Steal: Students kneel while tossing and catching, increasing difficulty in control and balance. Focuses on non-locomotor control and hand precision.

8. Core Catch Crunch: In sit-up position, students toss ball, crunch up, catch rebound. Repeats for reps. Builds core strength and hand-eye coordination.

9. Toss Tag Tournament: Two players toss simultaneously. If both catch, they stay in. If one drops, the other tags them out. Great for competition, reflexes, and throwing.

10. Pivot Pass & Catch: Students pivot after each rebound catch before tossing again. Trains balance, turning, and throwing accuracy.

11. Dribble & Deflect: Students dribble a ball around cones, then toss another into the rebounder and deflect it away or catch. Integrates dribbling and catching under pressure.

12. Rebounder Round Robin: Students rotate between multiple Toss Back Trainers, completing challenges at each. Keeps activity dynamic and supports skill variety.

13. Sky High Rebound Race: Throw high, catch high. Students must jump and grab a rebound above head height. Trains jumping and catching under pressure.

14. Behind-the-Back Bounce: Students perform a behind-the-back throw into the trainer and try to catch the return. Trains coordination, creative movement, and object control.

15. Target Toss Trials: Use floor tape to mark distances. Students aim to hit the rebounder from increasing ranges. Improves throwing accuracy and power.
