15 Creative Activity Ideas Using the ClassPlus Racquet & Shuttle Packs
The ClassPlus Racquet & Shuttle Packs are a complete solution for large group racquet-based activities. Each pack includes high-quality racquets and both indoor and outdoor shuttles, designed to ensure students of all levels can engage in striking and volleying games with ease. This set stands out because it supports up to 24 students at once and offers both indoor and outdoor play options thanks to the variety of shuttlecocks. The following activities are designed to teach and reinforce fundamental movement skills (FMS) through engaging, creative, and inclusive games that use the ClassPlus Racquet & Shuttle Packs.
1. Racquet Rocket Relay: Students race to carry shuttlecocks balanced on their racquets across a gym or field without dropping them. This teaches dynamic balance and locomotor skills such as running and walking under control.
2. Shuttle Shuffle Showdown: Partners rally with each other using only foot movement in a confined space (like within hula hoops) to practice coordination and striking while maintaining static balance.
3. Shuttle Toss Target: Set up disc targets as landing zones. Students try to strike the shuttlecock with a racquet to land on a specific target to build aiming accuracy and striking.
4. Flip & Fly Freestyle: Students compete to see how many times they can flip the shuttle in the air and hit it with alternating sides of the racquet without letting it drop. Focuses on hand-eye coordination and agility.
5. Racquet Run Rampage: In relay teams, students run to a cone while bouncing the shuttle continuously on their racquet. Uses dribbling (with a racquet), locomotion, and timing control.
6. Side Slide Smash: Students slide laterally between cones and smash a shuttle back to a partner after each slide. Teaches sliding, striking, and reaction timing.
7. Fast Feet Flick: Use a stopwatch to see how many times students can hit a shuttle back and forth between partners in 30 seconds while side-stepping. Enhances footwork, coordination, and reaction speed.
8. Court Chaos Challenge: Divide the class into two teams. Each team stands on opposite sides of a net. Players must hit shuttles over as fast as possible while retrieving any that land. Promotes agility, reaction time, and teamwork.
9. Bounce & Bash Bash: Students try to bounce the shuttle off the racquet once before hitting it over a barrier. Introduces bouncing and controlled striking.
10. Balancing Act Blitz: Have students perform a yoga pose (like tree pose) while bouncing the shuttle on the racquet. Develops balance, focus, and fine motor control.
11. Shuttle Shadow Steps: Students follow a leader who performs a series of movements (jumping, skipping, twisting) while bouncing the shuttle. Teaches mirroring, coordination, and rhythmic movement.
12. Racquet Roundabout: Groups stand in circles and must hit the shuttle from one racquet to another clockwise. Builds team coordination and anticipation.
13. Twist Toss Tennis: Students twist 180 degrees before striking the shuttle to a partner, emphasizing twisting, core use, and striking technique.
14. Serve It, Swerve It: Practice serving the shuttle with a racquet and running to a different cone before the partner serves back. Teaches serving, starting/stopping, and agility.
15. Net Ninja Knockout: Set up a net and create a knockout-style game where players must strike the shuttle to a target zone or get “knocked out” of the round. Builds precision striking, power control, and competitive focus.
