15 Activity Ideas with ClassPlus Disc Golf Packs
In this series of activities, students will improve fundamental movement skills like throwing, aiming, balance, and coordination using the ClassPlus Disc Golf Packs. Each activity will allow students to understand the different types of discs—drivers, mid-range, and putters—while developing distance control, power, and accuracy. Using their individual disc sets, students will refine their disc golf skills while enjoying a portable, easy-to-set-up course experience.
1. Disc Sprint & Sink: Create a 3-hole course using the ClassPlus disc golf baskets. Students sprint from one target to the next, aiming to sink a disc in each hole before their opponents. This helps develop accuracy while incorporating running and agility.
2. Power Trio Throw: Students take turns using the driver, mid-range, and putter discs to see how each behaves over different distances. This activity builds an understanding of disc control and power as they aim for targets at various distances.
3. Target Conqueror: Assign each student a basket to "conquer." They must land a disc in their assigned basket using each of their three disc types (driver, mid-range, putter) before moving on to the next basket. This enhances consistency and disc versatility.
4. Distance Dash: Arrange a line of cones at different distances. Students throw their driver, mid-range, and putter to see how far each disc travels. They must retrieve their discs and return to the start line, building endurance and disc control.
5. Accuracy Pursuit: Set up baskets at increasing distances, and students must throw their discs starting with the driver and ending with the putter, focusing on controlled throws and accuracy.
6. Time Trials: Set up a quick 3-hole course. Students have a set time to complete the course by sinking a disc in all three baskets. This fast-paced game builds agility, coordination, and strategic planning as students race against the clock.
7. Disc Domino Challenge: Line up cones or other objects. Students throw their discs to knock over as many objects as possible in a single throw, developing precision and strategic force with each disc type.
8. Long-Distance Challenge: Set up a long-distance target and challenge students to throw their driver as far as possible. This game focuses on distance control and understanding the power needed for each disc type.
9. Mini Disc Golf Challenge: Set up a mini disc golf course where the baskets are placed at shorter distances than usual. Students must use their putters and mid-range discs to navigate the course. This focuses on precision and control over distance.
10. Speed Sink Showdown: Set up a short course and challenge students to sink as many discs as possible in one minute. The lightweight design of the ClassPlus® discs keeps the focus on speed and accuracy.
11. Around the World: Set up baskets at various distances and angles. Students must make successful throws at each target, progressively moving from easiest to hardest, using all three disc types, improving aim and versatility.
12. Disc Scramble: Form teams of 3-4 students. For each basket, all team members throw their discs (driver, mid-range, or putter), and the team chooses the best throw to continue from. This encourages teamwork and strategic thinking.
13. Bag Balance Relay: Students race across the gym carrying their disc bag, then throw each disc type into the target. This activity blends balance, speed, and accuracy.
14. Flick Frenzy: Create a shorter, faster-paced 3-hole course where students focus on making quick, low-power flick throws with their mid-range or putter to reach the target. The quick setup allows for a fresh, dynamic game.
15. Disc Bowling: Set up cones in a bowling formation, and students use their discs to "bowl" and knock down as many cones as possible. Focuses on control and accuracy with each disc type.
