An upgraded platform design makes this trainer great for myriad exercises and skill levels. Its versatile design allows users to use it dome- or platform-side down.

Quality Design

Textured channel markings and four-quadrant design on the trainer's dome guides users to ensure proper alignment for a more effective workout. Thick, 6.5 lb PVC bladder stands up to routine use and allows for quick variations in inflation level based on user preference and exercise type. A polypropylene platform with molded-in handles combined with 6 nonskid, non-marring feet make for a solid, steady base.

Versatile Trainer

This versatile trainer acts as 4 products in 1: a balance board, plyo box, balance disc, and stability ball. That's because users can stand on either the soft dome side or rigid platform side of the trainer. Whichever side is up, users have to engage core and stabilizer muscles to maintain control of their movement. Use the dome side for balance squats, lunges, crunches, and more. Flip it to the platform side for challenging balance push-ups, rocking planks, hip extensions and much more! Trainer includes a hand inflation pump and supports users up to 300 lb. It is 26" dia x 9"H; 17 lb.

Activity Ideas to Teach Balance and Stability with BOSU NexGen Balance Trainer

The objective of these activities is to develop balance, core stability, and coordination through a series of fun and engaging tasks using the BOSU NexGen® Balance Trainer. The activities will incorporate various fundamental movement skills such as dynamic balance, static balance, and body control, allowing students to improve their overall physical literacy while having fun.

1. Squat Stability: Students stand on the dome side of the BOSU and perform squats. This helps improve lower body strength and balance as students focus on maintaining a stable position during the exercise.

2. Plank Hold: Students place their forearms on the flat side of the BOSU and hold a plank position. This activity strengthens the core and upper body while promoting static balance.

3. Bounce Battle: In pairs, athletes stand on the BOSU trainers and pass a coated-foam ball back and forth. The aim is to maintain balance while trying to make the opponent lose their stability by changing the direction and height of the volleyball.

4. Bop and Hop: Athletes take turns hopping onto the BOSU trainer from one foot to the other while maintaining balance. After each hop, they must catch a Playground Ball that’s tossed their way by a partner. This activity promotes dynamic balance and hand-eye coordination.

5. Surf's Up Balance Challenge: Pretend the BOSU NexGen® is a surfboard. Students must balance on it while performing wave-like motions, swaying from side to side. This teaches dynamic balance and body control.

6. Lunge Challenge: Students perform alternating lunges with one foot on the dome side of the BOSU. This exercise enhances balance, coordination, and lower body strength.

7. Ninja Warrior Dash: Athletes navigate an obstacle course that includes hopping on and off BOSU trainers placed in various patterns. This incorporates leaping, balancing, and coordination.

8. Push-Up Power Play: While performing push-ups on the BOSU trainer, athletes must maintain control and balance. This develops upper body strength and core stability.

9. Mountain Climbers: With hands on the flat side of the BOSU, students perform mountain climbers by alternating bringing knees towards their chest. This exercise works on core strength, coordination, and upper body stability.

10. Plank and Roll: Athletes hold a plank position with their hands on the BOSU, and a partner gently rolls a ball under the athlete. The plank-holder must shift weight to let the ball pass without losing balance.

11. Squat Sequence: Students perform squats on the BOSU while maintaining balance, focusing on stability and lower body strength.

12. Balance Toss and Turn: Students stand on the BOSU and toss a Gopher coated-foam ball to a partner. After each toss, they must turn 90 degrees without losing balance, then catch the ball again.

13. Simon Says Balance Edition: Play a version of Simon Says where athletes perform balancing tasks on the BOSU (e.g., stand on one foot, squat, twist). It promotes focus, stability, and following directions.

14. Dodge and Duck: Athletes stand on the BOSU while soft foam balls are thrown their way. They must dodge and duck to avoid the balls without losing balance.

15. Burpee Balance Challenge: Students perform a burpee starting with their hands on the flat side of the BOSU, jumping their feet back into a plank, then jumping forward and lifting the BOSU overhead. This works on balance, strength, and coordination.
